Note: Predictions for week 7 of the 2008 NFL season can be found here: NFL Week 7 Predictions.
I definately had a better week last week, going 10-4. There were a few games that surprised me, but that’s always going to happen in the NFL.
There are several games that I’m looking forward to this weekend. Green Bay at Minnesota, San Diego at Philadelphia, Pittsburgh at Cincinnati and Indianapolis at Houston. Yes, Indy at Houston. (More on this later).
ESPN Expert Picks: Last Week | This Week.
On with my picks for week 7!

Kansas City Chiefs (3-2) at Miami Dolphins (2-3) - Honestly, I don’t have a whole lot to say about this game. It’s been moved up to Friday night though, so we’ll have to see what kind of effect that has on the Chiefs (having to travel early). Pick: Chiefs.

Detroit Lions (2-3) at Cleveland Browns (2-3) - Detroit is a disappointing story. Every year, they seem to start with extremely high expectations, as they should. On paper, this team has one of the most talented teams in the league, but they have never lived up to that talent. Nothing has changed this year. The Browns are a team that could beat Detroit, but it’s hard to pick them to win. Pick: Lions.

Green Bay Packers (1-4) at Minnesota Vikings (1-4) - Game of the week in my book! The Vikings are a team that is in total disarray right now. From the coaching staff to the players on the field, this team has a lot of issues and distractions. Last week they were destroyed by Chicago. The Packers are coming off an incredible blowout win, 52-3 over the Saints in week 5. They’re well rested after their bye week, and they should have a few of their starters back from injuries. I think they’ll pick up where they left off, and I’m hoping the defense plays just as well as they did against New Orleans. Pick: Packers.

Indianapolis Colts (6-0) at Houston Texans (0-5) - Indianapolis is my 2nd favourite team, so the fact that they’re 6-0 right now is a good thing. This game is going to be fun for anyone who is a Colts fan, but horrifying for any Houston Texans fans. We’re talking about the best team in the league right now, facing off against the worst team in the league. It should be fun! Indy goes to seven and oh! Pick: Colts.
![]()
New Orleans Saints (2-4) at St. Louis Rams (2-4) - That was a tough way to lose on Monday night for the Rams. Up 17-0 in the first quarter, they ended up losing 45-28, although, you had to know that Peyton was going to bring the team back. The Rams may not have Marc Bulger this week, and I think that really limits them. The Saints are mad after last week’s loss to Atlanta, and the pounding Green Bay handed them the week before. If Bulger doesn’t play, the Saints should be able to pull off the win. Pick: Saints.
![]()
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) at Cincinnati Bengals (5-1) - Ben Roethlisberger is back this week, and that’s a huge lift for the Steelers. Cincinnati is a good team and will give Pittsburgh a run for their money, but I think the Steelers will be able to come away with the W. Pick: Steelers.
![]()
San Diego Chargers (3-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) - This will be an interesting game. The Chargers have a team that can beat anyone. The Eagles aren’t playing as well as they can this year, so this is going to be a tough game to predict. I’ll take the Chargers in a close one. (p.s. Give LT the ball!). Pick: Chargers.
![]()
San Francisco 49ers (1-4) at Washington Redskins (3-2) - Alex Smith and the 49ers are going to have a tough time scoring points against the Redskins defense. I’m expecting the ‘Skins to win. Pick: Redskins.
![]()
Dallas Cowboys (4-2) at Seattle Seahawks (4-2) - This will be a close game. Dallas is playing very well this year, and Seattle has been very good over the past few weeks. Close game that could go either way. Pick: Seahawks.
![]()
Baltimore Ravens (2-3) at Chicago Bears (2-3) - The Bears have the offense to be able to win this. Who knows if Baltimore’s offense will show up this week. Pick: Bears.
![]()
Buffalo Bills (3-3) at Oakland Raiders (1-4) - So, Randy Moss is going to miss this week. If he was playing, I’d probably pick the Raiders, but without Moss, the Raiders lose a big threat. Pick: Bills.
![]()
Denver Broncos (5-1) at New York Giants (3-2) - Denver’s on a roll. New York is coming back down to earth. Pick: Broncos.
![]()
Tennessee Titans (2-4) at Arizona Cardinals (1-4) - I really hope that Kurt Warner doesn’t lose his starting job just because of an injury. Sure, Josh McCown has been playing well but he’s only given the Cardinals one win, and that was against the 49ers. That’s really not saying much. The Cardinals don’t have a running game, and that will always make it hard to win. I think they could pull one out over the Titans this week… but this is probably a risky pick. Pick: Cardinals.
![]()
New York Jets (2-4) at Atlanta Falcons (4-2) - Seriously, those Jets are a hard team to figure out. Vinny gets off the couch and beats a good Buccaneers team and then loses the following week against a mid-level Buffalo team. So what’s going to happen when they play a good Atlanta Falcons team this week? Pick: Falcons.
Note: Carolina (4-2), Jacksonville (4-2), New England (3-3) and Tampa Bay (5-1) have a bye week this week.
