Note: Predictions for week 10 of the 2008 NFL season can be found here: NFL Week 10 Predictions.
After a good week last week (11-3) I brought my overall total to 80-50. I’m hoping to repeat that kind of success this week, or preferably, improve on it.
Last week was a great week of football with several good games that went right down to the wire. This week I’m looking forward to Dallas at Philly, St. Louis at Seattle, Denver at Oakland and of course, Green Bay at Atlanta.
ESPN Expert Picks: Last Week | This Week.
Here are my predictions for week 10!
![]()
Baltimore Ravens (2-6) at Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3) - Jacksonville has a decent 5-3 record, but they don’t really deserve it. They are a good team, but they play down to the level of their competition far too often. This is a tough pick in my opinion because if Jacksonville doesn’t bring their A game, Baltimore could squeak one out here. Pick: Jaguars.
![]()
Houston Texans (1-7) at Indianapolis Colts (8-0) - Last week the Colts looked great. They really controlled the game against the Patriots for the entire 60 minutes. They look like a very focused team, and as long as that keeps going, I’m not going to pick anyone over them. Plus, this is the Texans they’re playing this week. Pick: Colts.
![]()
Arizona Cardinals (2-6) at Detroit Lions (3-5) - Arizona needs a win. They’re hungry. Detroit put Harrington back in, which is kind of what they had to do because of injuries, but I’m sure they’d prefer someone else. Pick: Cardinals.
![]()
San Francisco 49ers (2-6) at Chicago Bears (5-3) - The Bears are still on a roll, and on top of the NFC North. As long as their defense plays the way it has been playing all season, they should be able to win this game. Pick: Bears.
![]()
Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) at Buffalo Bills (3-5) - Last week the Chiefs won a very close game over the Raiders. They showed exactly how to keep fighting until the end. They’ve lost Priest Holmes for the year, but Larry Johnson has really stepped up this year and is a great running back. Pick: Chiefs.
![]()
New England Patriots (4-4) at Miami Dolphins (3-5) - New England has really been dominated the past few weeks, and when they go to Miami, the Dolphins usually play very well against them. They could actually win this. I think the Patriots are a little more motivated to get a win right now though. Pick: Patriots.
![]()
Minnesota Vikings (3-5) at New York Giants (6-2) - The Vikings played pretty well last week under Brad Johnson at Quarterback. Nate Burlesson got his roll on (I’d assume for Dante Culpepper’s sake) and the Vikes got the W. This week though, they’re playing a very good NY Giants team that has one of the best offenses in the NFL right now. That doesn’t bode well for Minnesota’s defense. They’ve been pretty bad this year. Pick: Giants.
![]()
Denver Broncos (6-2) at Oakland Raiders (3-5) - This is the first of 2 games between these teams this year, and I expect the Broncos to win both. Pick: Broncos.
![]()
New York Jets (2-6) at Carolina Panthers (6-2) - The Jets are going to have a tough rest of the season. The Panthers are starting to look like the team that everyone was predicting to go to the Superbowl this year. Steve Smith is having an awesome year. Pick: Panthers.
![]()
St. Louis Rams (4-4) at Seattle Seahawks (6-2) - Seattle is just playing too well right now to pick against them. Pick: Seahawks.
![]()
Green Bay Packers (1-7) at Atlanta Falcons (6-2) - This marks the second time this season that I’ll be picking against Green Bay. With that said, I’ll repeat what I said 2 weeks ago when I picked the Bengals. I really hope I’m wrong with this pick. Eventually the Packers are going to get that second win, and who knows what will happen after that. I think they just need some momentum. This week will be a tough week though. Pick: Falcons.
![]()
Washington Redskins (5-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-3) - The Redskins played well against Philadelphia last week, and the Bucs are really missing their star players. The ‘Skins defense should be able to contain the Bucs. This will probably be a boring game if you like offense. Pick: Redskins.
![]()
Cleveland Browns (3-5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) - The Steelers played well without Ben Roethlisberger last week, so I’ll pick them this week, even if Big Ben isn’t playing. Pick: Steelers.
![]()
Dallas Cowboys (5-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) - It’s really about time Philadelphia did something about the T.O. situation. I honestly think they’ll be a better team without him, and I think after a full week without T.O. they’ll be focused like never before this season. Even some of the Cowboys are saying this will be tough for them. Pick: Eagles.
Note: Cincinnati (7-2), New Orleans (2-7), San Diego (5-4) and Tennessee (2-7) have a bye week this week.
