Reinspired

If you’re a regular visitor to this site, you’ve probably noticed the design change that has taken place around here. I mentioned a few days ago that a new design was coming, so here it is! I’ve made changes to several areas of the site and most are pretty subtle. The biggest change (obviously) is the new colour scheme and logo design.

The new colour scheme kind of speaks for itself, so I wont say much about it. The logo is something that I don’t know if I was ever happy with before, so I started over… sort of. The copy hasn’t changed except for a lighter gray for the ‘re’ of reinspire. For the icon part of the logo I wanted to create something simple, but strong, and this is what I came up with:

I’ve been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work on this site over the past few weeks and there’s still more to come. There should be some new content up shortly, as I try to find a balance between writing new content and improving the functionality of this site. Coming soon, I’ll be posting a tutorial on how to create the PHP/MySQL/AJAX poll that I launched on this site in November.

Oh, and if you prefer the old design, it’s still available as an alternative stylesheet. Firefox users: View > Page Style > Reinspire v1. IE or Safari users: I’m not sure how to switch styles on the fly - if anyone knows, please comment. I will also be adding a style-switcher to the site in the near future, which will allow users to select either version of the site and save their preference.
