Step Up to the Microphone!

Are you a lurker? Well, if you don’t know what a ‘lurker’ is, there’s a good chance that you are one. Don’t worry, it’s nothing to be ashamed of - it’s actually quite common.

So what is lurking? Well, it’s a term used for people that read blogs and join chat rooms or newsgroups but don’t participate by commenting.

The truth is, I’m actually about 4 months late on this because I’ve only recently (within the last 3 months) become acquainted with Veerle’s blog. Last January, Veerle declared the 2nd annual ‘De-Lurking day,’ but this time decided to make it de-lurking week. The whole point: to encourage visitors of your site to drop you a line and leave a comment rather than just reading your posts and walking away.

Next year I promise that I’ll be on-time with the regularly scheduled De-Lurking Day, but I thought that now was as good a time as any to encourage visitors to leave a comment.

Tell me what’s on your mind, where you’re from, what you do, how long you’ve been reading my site, etc. Everything’s fair game. This site isn’t just for me and my opinions - it’s about sharing ideas and community, and that involves you, the reader!

So, if you disagree with an idea or method I’ve posted, tell me about it. If my comments have encouraged you or helped you out, let me know! If you just want to say hi or want to send me an idea for a future entry, go for it! I’d love to get to know my audience better and find out if I’ve been able to help you out, or if you just enjoy reading my site.
