Takin’ it All Off for CSS Naked Day

It’s that time of year again, time for the 2nd annual CSS Naked Day! If you’ve been following my feed you will have noticed the link to the CSS Naked Day website a couple weeks back. Well, Dustin’s accepting signups now for those who want to take part this year.
What is CSS Naked Day you ask?
The idea behind this event is to promote Web Standards. Plain and simple. This includes proper use of (x)html, semantic markup, a good hierarchy structure, and of course, a good ‘ol play on words. It’s time to show off your <body>.
I will be participating again this year for the full 48 hour period of Thursday, April 5, 2007—so don’t be too alarmed if you come back late next week to find my site a little bit exposed. Last year the first CSS Naked Day saw over 700 sites bare all in the name of web standards and this year I’d expect to see even more. This is a great opportunity for us to raise some more awareness for web standards, and I’d encourage you to get involved if you can.
So, get in on all the geeky fun, and get nude on April 5th!
Update (April 4th, 9:30 AM EST): Well, it’s April 5th in at least 5 timezones, so CSS Naked Day is officially under way! So far, over 750 sites have signed up to strip down, and I bet that number will continue to increase as April 5th dawns upon the rest of the world.
