NFL Week 10 Predictions

NFL logo With week 10 of the NFL season upon us, now is a fitting time for some reflection and at this point in the year I like to start taking some polls to find out how people have seen things. Each team has played at least half of their schedule and has given us a fairly good idea of where they stand. Yes, there are still a lot of downs left to be played and some teams will have opportunities to turn it around, but now is as good a time as any to start discussing opinions.

This week’s post will be a bit different than most. I’ll still be picking the games, but rather than analyze each game this week, I’ll basically provide a 1 or 2 sentence (or in some cases, 1 or 2 word) assessment of where I think each team is at this year. Also, this week’s poll will focus on the negative (positive coming next week)… I’d like to know which team you think has been the most disappointing this season, so cast your votes! Voting is now closed. Thanks to everyone who voted and made their opinion known!

Last week’s picks didn’t fair as well as I had hoped. I took some risks and wound up going 9-5, but that’s kind of what happens when you hang out on the limb.

Game of the Week: Cowboys at Giants

After losing their first 2 games of the season, not many people (including myself) would have predicted that the New York Football Giants would go on to win their next 6 in a row and head into the bye week with a 6-2 record, but that’s exactly what happened. The Cowboys meanwhile have jumped out to a 7-1 start and are in the driver’s seat in the NFC East. With the Giants impressive winning streak though, the Cowboys probably feel like the Giants are in the back seat of their 3 seater coupe… it’s a little tight.

Game 1 between these two teams was the season opener in Dallas, with the Cowboys beating the Giants in a 45-35 shootout. I don’t think we’ll see as many points as the Giants defense has gotten better as this season has run along, but I also don’t see Dallas’s defense allowing 35 either. I think this game will be a close one, and another great Sunday Night match to watch.

Here are my picks for week 10!
